Demo Submissions

Effective date: July 15, 2026

We accept demos of electronic music you made and control the rights to. Read this page first. The address is at the end; sending a demo means you agree to the Submission Terms below.

Techno · house · electro · breaks · ambient · experimental club

What to include

What we look for

Finished or nearly finished original electronic music, for the club or for home listening: techno, house, electro, breaks, ambient, experimental club. Unreleased material only. No remixes of, or edits to, other people's records unless you already hold written permission from the rights owners. Non-exclusive submission is fine; if another label is in active paperwork on the same masters, say so. Optional but welcome: BPM, key, one or two reference artists.

What happens next

We review submissions as capacity allows and have no duty to listen, reply, or retain anything. Silence means we are not moving forward: not a hold, and not interest. One polite follow-up after 8 weeks is fine; after that, assume a pass and shop elsewhere freely. If we want to talk, we will email you from an @gridandguild.com address.

Submission terms

These Submission Terms form a binding agreement only for the limited purposes stated here: evaluation mechanics, non-confidentiality, warranties, indemnity, and claim limits. They are not a recording, publishing, or management contract. By sending us a demo, you agree to the following:

  1. Rights warranty. You represent and warrant that: (a) you wrote and produced the material, or control all rights necessary to submit it and to enter a recording agreement; (b) any samples, interpolations, vocals, stems, or other third-party content are cleared in writing for commercial release, or will be fully cleared before any release; (c) the material does not infringe any copyright, trademark, right of publicity, or other right; and (d) you have disclosed any AI tools used (see term 7).
  2. Not confidential; no relationship. Your submission is not confidential. Our receipt of it creates no confidential, fiduciary, agency, partnership, or contractual relationship beyond these terms, no duty to negotiate, and no obligation to compensate you for any idea, concept, sound, or style.
  3. No obligation. We have no obligation to listen to, review, respond to, return, or store any submission. We may discard any submission and block senders at our discretion.
  4. You keep your rights; no deal until signed. Submitting transfers no rights and grants us only the limited right to stream, download, and share the material internally for evaluation. No release, option, exclusive negotiation period, or payment exists unless we both sign a written agreement; informal comments from anyone at the label are not offers. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from any submission is limited to USD $100, excluding liability that cannot be limited under California law.
  5. Independent development; limited claims. We receive many submissions and develop our own catalog, and we may already be working on, or may later release, material that is similar in genre, tempo, sound design, arrangement, or feel. You agree that similarity alone is not evidence of copying; you waive claims based on implied contract, idea misappropriation, unfair competition, or confidential relationship arising from a submission; and any remaining claim is limited to copyright infringement of protectable original expression that you own.
  6. Age. You represent that you are at least 18. If you are 13 to 17, a parent or legal guardian must send the submission on your behalf and by doing so accepts these terms for you. Do not submit if you are under 13; we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 and will delete it if we learn we have. We may request proof of age or parental authority.
  7. AI disclosure and warranty. Disclose, per track, whether generative AI produced any melody, harmony, lyrics, vocals, or substantial arrangement, which tools were used, and whether any AI output imitates a real artist's voice or likeness. Assistive tools (tuning, noise reduction, mixing processors) need not be listed. You warrant you hold the rights to commercially exploit any AI-assisted material. Disclosure does not disqualify a track; non-disclosure is a material breach of these terms.
  8. Indemnity. You will indemnify and hold harmless Grid & Guild and its owners, members, officers, and agents from claims, damages, and reasonable attorneys' fees arising from a breach of these warranties or from your submission.
  9. Governing law; venue; time limit. These terms are governed by California law. Exclusive venue is the state or federal courts in Los Angeles County, California. Any claim arising from a submission must be filed within one year after it accrues. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
  10. Updates. We may update these terms by posting a new effective date; a submission is governed by the terms posted on the day it is sent.

Your information (notice at collection)

What we collect when you submit: identifiers (your email and artist name), online identifiers (links and profiles you include), and the audio you choose to send. Purposes: evaluating fit, replying to you, abuse prevention, and legal compliance. We keep submissions up to 24 months after last contact, longer only if required for legal reasons, then delete or de-identify them; deletion on request removes your submission from active systems within 30 days (backups cycle out on schedule). We do not sell or share your information for advertising, we do not add you to any mailing list, and we do not use your music to train AI models. Third-party services you link to (SoundCloud, Dropbox) and our email provider process data under their own terms. California residents may request access, correction, or deletion by emailing info@gridandguild.com with the subject "Privacy Request"; EU and UK senders may object or request erasure likewise. Details in our Privacy Policy. Submitting is voluntary; if you do not agree, do not send a demo.
